Outstanding Type Example, Gem Original, Gorgeous Satiny Cartwheel Luster, Transparent Gold Patina, Worthy of CAC Approval. A stunning 1875 double dime gem survivor with transparent gold and lavender-gray toning. Surfaces are pristine and so well preserved. The best aspect of this gorgeous 1875 double dime is the satiny cartwheel luster that is so reflective and powerful under a light source. Yes, the PCGS population for the 1875 date in MS64 is high but this piece is heads and shoulder better than most at the same grade level. Last appearing at Heritage auction during October 2016 where is garnered a $2100 same price. If not sold by the Central States show, this piece is heading to CAC for review. CAC has only approved 11 at the MS64 grade level and I suspect this will be the 12th. For the collector who wishes to own a superior type coin with a low mintage of only 36,910.
