How can I find a guide to help me value my coins?
PCGS offers the PCGS Daily Price Guide. From this area you will be able to view a range of values for a coin in varying grades. The prices listed in the PCGS Daily Price Guide are the average dealer asking prices for PCGS graded United States coins. The prices are compiled from various sources including dealer ads in trade papers; dealer fixed price lists, significant auctions, and activity at major coin shows. Prices for the most actively traded coins are updated daily. Other issues are upgraded as needed. All prices are reviewed at least once a month.
What's my coin worth?
The value of a coin is based on rarity and condition, not how old it is. To determine the value of your coin, go to your local bookstore and purchase a copy of the latest edition of "A GUIDEBOOK OF UNITED STATES COINS" (also known as "The Red Book). The Red Book provides all the information you need to identify, grade and appraise your coins. The Red Book is published every year which helps keep the pricing data fairly current.
