After much anticipation, a new series of Disney Dollars has been issued for 2013.  Following a one year hiatus and much speculation over their fate for the future; Disney produced a new series of $1 notes.  Dubbed the “Villians and Heroes series", these Disney Dollars feature iconic characters from Disney fairy tale classics on both the face and back of the notes.  The Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid and 101 Dalmatians were the classic movies given the honor to appear on the notes in circulation at Walt Disney World and Disneyland.  In addition to the normal notes, a set of error notes was accidentally released to the general public.  Some of the ‘101 Dalmatians’ issue contains a spelling error where the breed is misspelled “Dalmations”.  While it is unknown at this time how many errors made it to circulation before the spelling mistake was corrected, it is apparent that this will be a great find and an excellent addition to anyone’s Disney Dollar collection.  We here at PCGS Currency look forward to grading this new series and have already added them to our Set Registry.
