1941-42 6 Pence from Jersey during German Occupation of Channel Islands. Rare Pick # 1a and serial # 431751. Signature H. F. Ereaut. Graded 66 Exceptional Paper Quality Gem Uncirculated by PMG standing alone in this level of grade according to PMG Population Report with none graded finer. Delightful note. On close examination, the paper structure appears to be French, made likely due to the island's proximity with Metropolitan France. Currency note issued in Jersey during the German Occupation of the Channel Islands, WWII. The Channel Islands were declared a demilitarised zone by the British Government during the Second World War, and were occupied by the German forces from 1940 to 1945. During "The Occupation", an artist, Edmund Blampied was requested to design bank notes in denominations of 6 pence, 1 shilling, 2 shillings, 10 shillings and 1 pound for Jersey. These were issued in 1942. Please contact US to confidentially discuss your short and long term Goals. Please contact us by email or here at the office if there is anything we can do for you.
