1939 50 Drachmai from Greece. Pk 107a and serial number E109 175417. This beautiful note received grade 67 Exceptional Paper Quality Superb Gem Uncirculated by PMG with a population of one with none graded finer according to PMG Population Report! This note shows perfect margins with plenty of embossing. The bright green color on both sides adds to the beauty of this note. Hesiod at the left on the front of the note. Hesiod was a Greek poet generally thought by scholars to have been active between 750 and 650 BC, around the same time as Homer. On the reverse side of this note is a frieze at the center. A frieze (pronounced FREEZE) is a long narrow band of sculpture that runs along the architrave of a Greek temple or another building. The watermark on this note is a man's head. A note like this is worth a second look definitely!
