1981 Donruss Tim Raines PSA Mint 9 number 538 serial number 02331659. Timothy Raines Sr. (September 16, 1959-), nicknamed "Rock," made his major league debut with the Montreal Expos on September 11, 1979. A fleet-footed left-fielder, Raines secured the number one position in the Expos’ batting order and established himself as one of the top leadoff hitters and base stealers in the game by his third major league season. For a four-year period from 1981-1984, Tim Raines led the National League in stolen bases, while Rickey Henderson led the American League. Raines was a member of the Expos from 1979-1990, a period in which he went to seven consecutive all-star games, and led the league in batting average and on-base percentage (1986), and runs (1987). Tim Raines was traded to the Chicago White Sox in 1991, where he spent five productive seasons, averaging 28.6 stolen bases, while batting .284. The White Sox sent Raines to the New York Yankees in 1996, and his veteran leadership and solid playing helped the Bronx Bombers win world series titles in 1996 and 1998. A lupus diagnosis cut his season short in 1999. Enjoy! 4121lc.
