This is a great Confederate note. Printed by Southern Bank Note Company; (formally the New Orleans branch of the American Bank Note Company) this rare; high quality intaglio engraved note was produced and issued between January 8; 1862 and the fall of New Orleans to the Union forces in April 1862. This example is boldly printed with great color and is nearly fully framed. The best part of this note is that it has not been cancelled and it has a distinct moniker that is rarely seen on T19’s – PPQ (Premium Paper Quality). This note is a perfect example for the type.
