Kagin’s Presents the FAMOUS AND ISSUED - RARE POLAR BEAR NOTE – one of the most desirable obsolete bank notes extant! Highly regarded for its dramatic sea adventure motif; this note depicts a scene of terror as a fierce polar bear attempts to board a small vessel containing a group of fur clad seal hunters. In the background is the mother ship; too far away to render immediate assistance. Further research will reveal that PMG has only graded eight examples with the finest known in a VF 35 holder. In addition; this is the rarer variety being that this note was fully signed and issued; as opposed to the unsigned remainders found on the green tinted; $3 The Continental Bank of Boston; Massachusetts note. With such a few examples to choose from and no Uncirculated notes known; securing this example for your collection will likely turn out to be a decision well made.  Listed as #24 in the 100 Greatest American Currency Notes by Q. David Bowers and David M. Sundman
