A more common variety for the date and the first year of the Capped Bust design. This lovely piece is bested by just two coins at PCGS, an astounding pair of MS65+s. Both MS65+ examples are deeply toned, but the present piece is lighter in color allowing for full appreciation of John Reich's design. A bright silvery obverse beams with sharp luster and features soft lilac hues. The reverse is slightly deeper in color with grey and sienna coloration mingling together across the lustrous surfaces. Details are sharp throughout with slight weakness at the centers. Reich's design was hard to manufacture and took a toll on the dies leading to die cracks, as seen on both sides of the present piece, especially the reverse. Overall, a lovely piece that is sure to please as it makes its way into a premium registry set collection! Visit www.davidlawrence.com for more information on this coin and 7000+ more coins.
