From a low mintage of 11,634 pieces, the 1849-C Closed Wreath is collectible, relative to the major rarity Open Wreath variety (only six of which are known!), but is nonetheless challenging. Just shy of Mint State, this choice AU is weakly struck at the highest points as is often seen on this issue, a nearly impeccable trace of rub touching both sides.
