There are several repunched date varieties of the popular 1866 Shield nickels, and obtaining a complete collection of these presents a real challenge to specialists of the series. On this version, the doubling is not as strong as on the FS-301 and 302 varieties, it is still quite strong. The top lunule of the under digit 8 shows between the overpunched 8 and 6, and the under digit 6 is broadly repunched east.
