Presenting a Set of 2 1916 (2026) 10C Gold Mercury Dime and Silver Medal, from the Best of the Mint Series, graded SP70 First Day of Issue by NGC. The Best of the Mint series celebrates the most iconic and beautiful United States coinage. The Mercury Dime, originally minted in 1916, features Liberty wearing a winged helmet, representing the Roman God Mercury (or the Greek God Apollo). It comes with a companion silver medal which features a helmed Liberty, again an homage to the God Mercury, thrusting a sword into the reverse, which depicts the Great Depression, Hooverville shacks, and the Dust Bowl (times of extreme American poverty and perseverance).
The Gold Mercury Dime contains .10 troy ounces of 24KT Gold. The Silver Medal contains 1 troy ounce of .999 Fine.
