1880 5C Fletcher-1, JD-2, Low R.2, PR66 PCGS. JD-2 shows the date heavily repunched inside the loops of the second 8. It is also the scarcer of the two proof die pairs for the 1880 Shield nickel, representing only about 25% of the survivorship. This Premium Gem example displays a balance of satiny luster and field reflectivity, with subtle iridescence throughout otherwise silvery-white surfaces.
