Abercrombie, ND- Nils Erikson / Egyptian Regulator Tea "500" Advertising Card ND (ca. 1890s) About Uncirculated. Obsolete items from North Dakota are few and far between and so this item, in actuality an advertising card that depicts an advertising note, will make the cut for many collectors. Egyptian Regulator Tea is first mentioned in newspaper advertising in 1892. Sold as a cure for everything from obesity to pimples, rheumatism, and constipation (plus a host of other complaints) the tea was sold by the Egyptian Drug Company, 29 Park Row, New York, NY. The depicted advertising note promises $500 to anyone finding as good a medicine as the touted product. It is flanked by before and after portraits of the Rev. William H. Scovill of Rhodes, IA, who was miraculously brought back to health after using the product. The card is essentially in "as-made" condition with a tiny stain in the top margin left of center and minuscule blunting of the upper left corner tip.
