Pennsylvania January 1, 1756 10s Very Good. The session that ended November 3, 1755, authorized the issue of £55,000 in legal tender bills that were good until January 1, 1760. This issue was intended to support military operations during the French and Indian War and was to be redeemed from tax levy revenues. The 10 Shillings design features a rendition of the Pennsylvania coat of arms on the face and a botanical nature print on the back. The note has seen a fair amount of time in circulation resulting in tears, tape repairs, backing with a page in German, stains, etc. It has been five years since we last auctioned a 10 Shillings example. A rare early Pennsylvania issue. HID08101242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
