Donlon, William P. - United States Large Size Paper Money 1861 to 1923 Near Mint. 1968 (First Edition) Special Collectors Edition in White Card Cover- Book No. 8 of 300 176 pages; 1976-77 Fifth Edition Special Hardbound Edition 184 pages Revised by A(rt) M. and Don Kagin. The Special Hardbound Edition has a former owner's address rubberstamping on the frontispiece. Also, penned on the page is, "Kind regards to a paper money friend / J. Roy Pennell / Sincerely / Wm. P. Donlon / 8/22/68." Mr. Pennell was the president of the Society of Paper Money Collectors, 1971-75. The hardbound edition is seldom encountered and it has the card covers bound inside. This large size reference book had six editions printed during the years 1968-79. William Donlon was a collector and dealer who conducted 12 auctions from 1971-78.
