Denver, CO- United Spanish War Veterans 31st National Encampment Ad Note One Fare Round Trip September 8-11, 1929 PMG Very Fine 20. An advertising note for the 31st National Encampment for Spanish War Veterans which was held in Denver in September 1929. Commands listed in quarter inch type are, "Tenshun!" and "Fall In!" One feature of the encampment that could not be missed is, "the big snaix crawl". Darn, we missed it. This organization included veterans of the Spanish-American War, the Philippine Insurrection, and the Boxer Rebellion. The last member died in 1992 at the age of 106. He was Nathan E. Cook and he served in the Philippine Insurrection. This example, with a portrait of President McKinley, is stained and split. It also serves double duty as a "New Size Currency Handout" as it states at the bottom of the back, "This is exact size of currency to be issued July 1, 1929."
