Strong remaining mint luster complements warm orange-gold color and pleasing original surfaces. Honest circulation has left light, even wear over the high points while preserving ample detail throughout Liberty's hair and the reverse eagle. Sharply defined for the issue and free of significant distractions, this New Orleans double eagle is an attractive, wholesome example of a scarce early Southern branch mint twenty that faces up better than the assigned grade.
