1787 1C Fugio Cent, New Haven Restrike, Brass, N. 104-FF, W-17560, R.3, MS65 PCGS. The brass New Haven restrike was the most prominent of the reissued design with around 500 examples struck by Horatio Rust circa 1859. Brilliant copper-red luster adorns this phenomenal specimen interrupted by only some small silver spots under the sundial. The issue is rare in Gem Uncirculated and just three have been observed numerically finer than the present piece, in both varieties, at PCGS (7/26). Listed on page 53 of the 2026 Guide Book.
