1800 H10C VF35 PCGS CAC-The 1800 Draped Bust Half Dime is a highly desirable early federal silver issue and an important representative of the nation's first half dime series. Struck to a modest mintage of 40,000 pieces, it is estimated that only approximately 750 examples survive today across all grades. This attractive VF35 PCGS CAC example represents the popular V-1, LM-1 (R.3) variety, distinguished by the large 8 in the date formed from two small "0" punches. As one of the earliest silver denominations produced by the young United States Mint, these coins saw extensive circulation in the nation's developing economy, explaining their low survival rate today. The coin displays pleasing bluish-gray toning over original silver surfaces. Light, even wear and original surfaces give this early type coin outstanding eye appeal for the grade, making it an ideal representative of this popular early issue. Lower grade VF25 PCGS CAC sold for $5,040 04/25 SB, whilst a more recent XF45 non-CAC PCGS sold for $7,320 07/26 HA. CAC Price stands at $7,500 today.
