Dewey-Warren Political Dollar Certificates 1948 Two Consecutive Examples Choice Crisp Uncirculated. These ABNCo lithographed certificates "Political Dollars" were sent to campaign contributors to the 1948 Thomas Dewey-Earl Warren Republican presidency campaign of 1948 against Harry Truman. This presidential election would end with the famous photograph of President Truman grinning and holding up a copy of the Chicago Daily Tribune newspaper that (erroneously) announced his defeat with the oversized headline, "Dewey Defeats Truman."
