1801 50C O-102, T-1, R.4 -- Scratch -- PCGS Genuine. AU Details. Minor obverse and reverse clash marks are evident around the central devices. This lovely half dollar would be among the finest known, with sharpness approaching Mint State, but there are a number of old, toned over scratches, mostly on the obverse. Nevertheless, the coin retains considerable original luster and exhibits lovely antique-gold and aquamarine toning. The haphazard scratches that run horizontally through the portrait require magnification to see. While viewing, one cannot help but marvel at the old-time iridescent colors that effectively hide this coin's imperfections and are delightful to behold.
