1876 G$1 MS64 Prooflike NGC. The glassy-smooth reflective fields are minimally abraded and the strike is sharp, showing only minor weakness at the 8 in the date. As with most other gold denominations from this date and mint, the 1876 mintage was very low. Only 3,200 pieces were struck. NGC reports only seven 1876 gold dollars with designated Prooflike surfaces and none are finer than this Choice example. NGC Census: 7 in 64, 0 finer (8/26).
