1834 $5 Plain 4, HM-1, R.3, MS61 NGC. The early die state of this classic half eagle is attributed by the very slight repunching of the D in UNITED, which is more prominent in later states. Light yellow-gold shows over this piece as well as some light frosted orange patina on the reverse. While minor abrasions are present, none are noteworthy.
