1839-C $5 -- Harshly Cleaned -- PCGS Genuine. AU Details. Winter-1. The 1839-C is a transitional design featuring Christian Gobrecht’s slightly curved bust truncation and the obverse mintmark. The well-struck piece displays light yellow luster. The cleaning is harsh as noted by the holder, with minor spots remaining.
