1795 $1 Flowing Hair, Three Leaves, B-5, BB-27, R.1, XF45 PCGS. Bowers Die State III. The crack from the branch stem on the reverse reaches the dentils, but the clashing on the obverse at Liberty's chin has not yet occurred. BB-27 is readily identified by the short die line in the left obverse field behind Liberty's hair. This Three Leaves variety is plentiful overall, making for an accessible type coin. However, high-grade circulated examples are elusive. The current Choice XF example displays hints of luster in the protected areas, with champagne-tinged slate-gray surfaces that are smooth and problem-free. Save for some adjustment marks on the reverse (as struck), there are no distractions. Border dentils are complete around each side, and the coin is generally well struck, with minor wear on the portrait and eagle. HID06601242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
