1797 $10 Large Eagle, BD-2, High R.4, AU55+ PCGS. Bass-Dannreuther Die State b/b, with a pair of tiny vertical die cracks through the second 7 in the date. Several examples of the scarce BD-2 die marriage are known with prominent mint-made lint marks, and the current coin can be added to that sub group. They appear throughout the fields on both sides, but especially behind Liberty's portrait, and a long lint mark also presents itself across the lower hair curls over the neck. This coin is minimally abraded and shows light wear, with moderate butter-gold luster remaining in the protected areas of the fields. The reverse has a hint of reflectivity in the margins. Eye appeal pleases substantially for the grade, and the Plus designation from PCGS adds the "extra sip" of technical quality recognition. HID06601242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
