Choice Unc (15: 5;5;5). FS-401a; Obv of 1856; Repunched date. Fully struck and prooflike. This is a very rare and popular type with the obverse style of 1856 and the bold repunched date. There are very few of this examples of this type known although a few are found in high grade and sometimes graded as a Proof! This example has prooflike surfaces with die striations; which is indicative of an early die state strike. This is a super example and one of the top varieties in the series.
