CAC. S-135. Reverse of 1797, Stems. A remarkable Mint State survivor from the early years of the United States Mint, certified PCGS MS64 Brown with the desirable CAC approval. Rich chocolate-brown surfaces display smooth, even coloration and impressive originality. The strike is bold for the issue, with well-defined hair detail and sharp wreath leaves on the reverse. Early copper in true Mint State is always elusive, and this near-Gem example combines strong eye appeal, historical significance, and high technical quality. An exceptional representative of the Draped Bust large cent series.
