Massachusetts May 5, 1780 $8 PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45. 26,267 $8s were authorized for issue as part of this £394,000 emission, per the Acts of May 5 and June 19, 1780. The design elements and one of the two signatures, that of Ebenezer Wales, are sharp and bold. The second signature done in red ink is present but faded. The federal guarantee is signed on the back by Peter Boyer, whose signature is also faded but still legible. PMG mentions pinholes which are of little consequence.
