North Carolina December, 1771 £5 PMG Very Fine 30. 2,000 £5 notes bearing an emblem depicting military gear and flags were allocated for issue as part of this emission. The back of this note has several annotations as well as the signature of Joseph Montfort, Treasurer of the northern district of North Carolina. PMG mentions a missing corner tip that does not affect any printed portion of the design as well as relatively subtle evidence on the back that the note has been previously mounted.
