Newport, Rhode Island Personal Payment Order £26-1s-7d Apr. 9, 1743 PMG Holdered. This hand written order directs the recipient to pay Samuel Lansnan(?) £15-1s-7d in goods and £11 in "bills of publick credit old tenor." The instrument is completely handwritten and signed by the maker, Samuel Lee. The back contains an endorsement and the document, while quarterfolded is in essentially as-issued condition.
