Virginia July 17, 1775 £3 PMG Very Fine 20. The Ordinance of July 17, 1775 authorized £350,000 in Treasury Notes, but insufficient supplies of paper led to the use of 3,500 leftover 1773 "London Notes" engraved by Ashby early on. This is one of those notes that was pressed into service. The note is signed by Philip Johnson and John Tazewell and has a couple of gutter fold errors in the area of the signatures. PMG mentions tape repairs which are virtually all actually repairs made with stamp hinges on the back. HID08101242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
