Virginia May 1, 1780 $8 PMG Choice About Unc 58 EPQ. The Act of May 1, 1780 authorized the emission of $1,666,666 in Treasury Bills, with 33,333 $7s being allocated for issue. The note is boldly printed on bright paper with original surfaces and has well defined design elements, strong signatures of A. Craig, Bolling Stark, and Charles Fleming who signed the federal guarantee on the back, as well as sharp straight margins that nearly fully frame the design. A handwritten date, October 9, 1781, is present above the interest table on the face of the note, indicating the date that interest began to accrue.
