Virginia March 1, 1781 $1,000 printed on thin laid paper PMG Choice Very Fine 35. The Act of March 1, 1781 authorized an emission of £10,000,000 (later increased to £15,000,000) in Treasury Bills, including 18,249 $1000s allocated for issue. This example was printed on very thin paper with well defined design details and the dark and bold signatures of John Lyne, L. Patterson, and J. Hopkins. PMG mentions (small edge) tears, commonly seen on notes from this issue due to the delicate paper used. From The Richard Jones Collection HID08101242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
