Aberdeen, MS- Planters Bank $10 Sep. 10, 1838 G8 PMG Very Fine 30. This rare denomination for the Planters is unlisted in Leggett, while in Mississippi Notes and Scrip by Guy Krause it is listed as a R-7, 1 - 5 known. The demise of the Bank of Mississippi in 1831 ushered in the state's wildcat banking era. Tape repairs cover up the ink erosion of the Cashier’s signature. While we have offered several $3 and $5 notes over the years in various auctions, this is only the second of this $10 denomination. HID08101242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
