This British North Borneo Company 25 Dollars is the sole example recorded in the PCGS Population Report at time of cataloging. Its exceptional scarcity is reinforced by PMG, where only eleven examples are recorded in total. Just one of these grades finer at Choice Very Fine 35, while only two others reach Very Fine 30. As the highest denomination of this limited series, the 25 Dollars also represents the final new issue of British North Borneo Company paper money. Its brief circulation was interrupted by the Second World War, when Japanese forces occupied British North Borneo from 1942 until Allied forces liberated the territory in 1945. This combination of scarcity, grade, and historical significance makes this a particularly desirable offering. A split is mentioned on the holder.
