Malaya Board of Commissioners of Currency 10 Dollars 1.1.1940 Pick 1s KNB5S Specimen PMG Very Fine 25. With a mere two examples recorded in total in the PMG Population Report at time of cataloging, this Archival Specimen 10 Dollars is a notable survivor of a wartime series. This makes the offering here an outstanding rarity when compared with the population of over 950 issued examples recorded by PMG for the design. Printed by Waterlow & Sons, the violet note features King George VI on the front and 11 coats of arms on the back. Its Archival Specimen status is confirmed by the serial number obscured by a bold black overprint, a "SPECIMEN ONLY" perforation, and "SPECIMEN" red overprints on either side. With no additional condition comments found on the holder, this is a fascinating and highly elusive alternative form of the familiar and sought-after design.
