Malaya Board of Commissioners of Currency 100 Dollars 1942 (ND 1945) Pick 15 KNB15a PMG About Uncirculated 50 EPQ. An extraordinary level of preservation distinguishes this large-format 100 Dollars, a type which is remarkably difficult to acquire in higher grades. While nearly 680 examples are recorded in total in the PMG Population Report at time of cataloging, only 23 are graded finer than the note offered here, with the majority of the population not exceeding the Very Fine level. Our own auction history further demonstrates just how unusual the condition here is. Our previous highest-graded offering was a Choice Extremely Fine 45, while the next finest we have handled graded Choice Very Fine 35. The About Uncirculated 50 grade presented here therefore marks the highest grade we have offered to date for an issued example, made even more desirable by its Exceptional Paper Quality. Standing as the second-highest denomination publicly issued for the series, this 100 Dollars was printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. with the portrait of King George VI on the front and an arrangement of 11 coats of arms on the back. Interestingly, the consecutive serial number example is also offered in this auction as a separate lot. The note's exceptional preservation makes this a remarkable opportunity for collectors of this popular series. From The Peh Family Collection HID08101242017 www.HA.com/TexasAuctioneerLicenseNotice
