1793 1C Chain, AMERICA, Periods, S-4, B-5, R.3, Fine 12 NGC. CAC. Breen Die State II. Two delicate cracks behind the lower hair meet at the rim about 7:30, and another crack extends through the bottoms of RTY in LIBERTY. A small mark through Liberty's mouth will identify this example, as does a thin, horizontal pinscratch hidden in the lower hair strands reaching partway across the neck truncation. In all other ways, this S-4 Chain cent offers exceptional olive-brown and tan surfaces for the grade. All the individual design elements are nicely rendered with a bold chain on the reverse.
