Choice AU (15: 5;5;5). FS-901. Very scarce with the Low Leaves reverse. The Low Leaves reverse was a new design which entered circulation in mid-1858 along with the Small Letters obverse. Most all Small Letters have this reverse. Both dies were made with a much shallower design to increase die life. Any leftover 1858 Large Letter dies were used with the new reverse until they ran out; which was pretty quickly. This is a sub type; called Type 3 in the Attribution Guide; with the ONE CENT Very shallow in the die and the E in ONE open. The coin is fully struck and has very few marks. This type is scarce and is found only about 1/20 of the time on Large Letters Flying Eagles.
