A beautifully preserved and sharply struck example of this scarce date which saw just 4,000 minted. The obverse exhibits crisp definition to Liberty???s portrait, with full hair detail and smooth, satiny luster that flows evenly across the fields. The reverse is equally strong, showing a bold Roman numeral III framed by a sharply defined wreath, with excellent separation of the leaves and beads along the rim. Surfaces are notably clean for the grade, with no noteworthy marks visible, even under magnification. Bright silver-gray in color with pleasing, original eye appeal throughout.
