R-8. (4 known) Beautiful Indian Princess design, hand on globe with two flags behind and a Liberty pole in front with Phyrgian cap atop the pole. Thirteen stars arranged around the border, date below. The reverse shows an agricultural wreath with 1 DOLLAR within, the word STANDARD in small letters around the upper border, the "Standard Silver" reverse of 1870. Struck in silver with a plain edge. Brilliant mirrored fields provide strong reflectivity, while frosted devices create attractive cameo contrast on this piece. The surfaces are sharply defined and visually appealing for the grade, with moderate hairlines consistent with the Proof 62+ designation. The pedigree can be traces back to the 1954 King Farouk sale and a 5/2011 Spinks sale where a bidding war ran the sale price up to $55,000!
