1795 $1 Flowing Hair, Two Leaves, B-1, BB-21, R.2, XF45 PCGS. Bowers Die State I. Attractive golden-gray toning deepens slightly at the margins of this Choice XF early dollar. The B-1, BB-21 variety is easily the most-available of the Two Leaves type and also one of the most interesting die pairs, with an errant 1 beneath 7 in the date and Liberty's portrait (the so-called Head of 1795) entered high in the field. Only minor marks and abrasions exist on the otherwise smooth and pleasing surfaces, nor are there any adjustment marks to distract the eye. The motifs are perfectly centered within the full rims and bold dentils. Smooth, high-point wear confirms the assigned grade.
