1795 $1 Flowing Hair, Two Leaves, B-9, BB-13, R.4, Fine 15 NGC. Bowers Die State I. The 9x8 berry arrangement and an outer berry between S and T of STATES are diagnostic for the variety. Deep argent-gray color enriches the fields, while the devices and borders transition to light, silver-tan toning on this Choice Fine example. The surfaces are problem-free for the grade, including a surprising lack of relevant contact marks. All legends and berries are bold while the hair strands and eagle's plumage show occasional detail.
