It is hard to believe that the U.S. Mint would still be able to strike proof issues for collectors during this time of war, yet here we have just such an example. Never dipped or altered, this is exactly how an original proof should appear, with an array of original and attractive colors splayed across both sides and no distractions mentionable. Shades of violet, blue-green, and rose-gold come to light when light catches the deeply mirrored fields. Intricately struck and certainly rare at this level. PCGS has rightly granted their Plus Grade designation and CAC their coveted seal of approval, confirming the high-end nature of this Civil War era survivor!
