About Kenneth Goldman

Kenneth GoldmanDistinguished entrepreneur and specialist of rare coins, Kenneth Goldman began his vocation in numismatics at the age of 8 years old. Joining the American Numismatic Association in 1968 at age 13, he held his first table at a coin show, displaying and trading scarce & rare coins with vendors and advanced collectors. By the time he turned 18, he began serving as a full-time collector and dealer of rare coins. Today, Kenneth Goldman commands more than 50 years of experience in the industry and continues to refine his knowledge of specialty collections, in part by traveling to virtually all major coin conventions and auctions across the nation

Kenneth Goldman has been an expert witness for Federal Trade Commission as well as the New York Attorney General’s office in several cases. Over the years, he has served as an expert appraiser for clients who have overpaid on specialty pieces and has assisted in the prosecution of offenders through civil court disputes.

Maintaining life membership with the American Numismatic Association for over 50 years, Mr. Goldman is a passionate business owner, specializing in antique coinage. Through his agency, Kenneth Goldman, Inc., he has personally handled rare coins & collections worth tens of millions of dollars. Among his endeavors, he has traded numerous Mint State Copper, Silver and Gold pieces created between 1793 and 1800, New England Shillings, one of the legendary 1804 Dollar, the Virgil Brand 1849 Cincinnati 10 Dollar Gold piece, and a range of other Pioneer Gold Rarities, minted during the days of the Gold Rush. Through his 50 years in business, he claims to have owned thousands of Pattern, Trial, and Pioneer Gold pieces–including many of the great rarities

Further, Mr. Goldman has been a member of the Professional Numismatics Guild for over 35 years.  During his term as a PNG Member (1975-2010), he has served on several arbitration committees, been an advisor to many other PNG Members, etc.

In addition to his expertise in trade and collection, Kenneth Goldman has contributed to the industry in several capacities. Utilizing his knowledge of rare coins, he has contributed pricing and valuation on the industry’s Guidebook of United States Coins, most commonly referred to as the “Redbook”–for nearly 40 years.
