Las Vegas, NV – Legend Rare Coin Auctions wrapped up its first of five scheduled auctions last week at The Venetian in Las Vegas. As always the sale was held in conjunction with the PCGS Members Only Show. The Regency Auction XI included 352 lots, which boasted several former Bear Collection coins, and three major collections: The Colley Collection of 3CS, The David Hall Collection of Toned Morgan Dollars, and The Lydia Collection of Proof Morgan Dollars. Both of the Morgan Dollar collections saw intense bidding, specifically the David Hall Collection, as toned dollars brought huge numbers all around.
Lot # 47 - 1872 3CS PCGS MS66+
Julie Abrams, President of Legend Rare Coin Auctions, "was thrilled with the sale. Not only did we see a record number of new bidders, this sale also had one of the highest totals of unique bidders. The auction room was standing room only and online bidding was fast and furious."
Abrams went on to say that "collectors stepped up throughout the process, from lot viewing to the final hammer. We saw more collectors bidding in this sale than any prior auction, but it was both dealers and collectors alike that responded enthusiastically to the wildly toned David Hall Collection. Toned Morgans, and the David Hall Collection in particular, were the stars of this sale."
David Hall, founder and CEO of PCGS was equally impressed, stating that "[Legend Rare Coin Auctions] did an amazing job with my beautiful dollars. I am blown away by the results!"
The sell through rate was 89% and final prices realized were $1,848,539.52 including Buyer's Premium, with numerous highlights:

"This sale's overwhelming success delighted us, but also caught us off guard!" said Laura Sperber, founder and partner of Legend Rare Coin Auctions. "We had expected a strong sale and by the time the hammer fell we had established many record prices. From the gem Half Cent Proofs that found new homes, to nearly all the toned Morgan Dollars. Lot 153, the $1 1880-S PCGS MS65 brought $10,868.75 and the $1 1882-S PCGS MS65 brought a wild $14,100.00, while the 1879 Trade Dollar PCGS PR67+ brought $37,600.00 with over a dozen unique bidders. We were also thrilled by the 1969/69-S Doubled Die Lincoln Cent which closed out the sale at $30,550.00!"
"We were also thrilled to see several hundred new bidders," Sperber added. "Legend Auctions would like to thank all participants for helping us put on yet another terrific sale.
