Lot 5: 1C 1812 LARGE DATE PCGS MS64 BN
(Lincroft, NJ)-Legend Rare Coin Auctions is pleased to present Regency Auction XVII, to be held on the evening of May 19 at Harrah's New Orleans, as the official auction for the PCGS Members Only Show. Classic rarities and popular collector coins abound in the 470 lot sale.
Lot 281: $1 1846-O PCGS MS64
Among classic rarities are an original and a restrike 1827/3 quarter, coins which are rarely offered individually, let alone together in a single sale. The Original is graded PCGS PR64 and is from the famous James A. Stack Collection; the Restrike is the finest certified by PCGS, PR66. The 1879 Quintuple Stella in gold, a duplicate from the Bob Simpson Collection, is another major rarity that has caused quite a stir since LRCA announced its consignment. The Quintuple Stella is the second finest of five known in gold, PCGS-graded PR64 DCAM.
In addition to these fantastic rarities, popular collector coins provide the backbone of the auction. Among the strongest areas, is a great selection of Bust and Seated Liberty coinage in all denominations, which are particularly strong in the half dollar denomination. Bust halves have been consigned by multiple advanced collectors, anchored by the Valley Collection. Morgan dollars, patterns, and better gold in high grade will also delight bidders.

Since the sale is in New Orleans, we have a pleasing selection of New Orleans mint issues, including many high grade examples."
Julie Abrams, president of LRCA added, "As the market continues to show signs of stabilizing and coming back from the recent downturn, we anticipate a lot of bidding participation. In the first 24 hours of online bidding many five figure coins have already attracted competitive bids.
